Byebye ("we", "our", "the app") is operated by 9to5Central. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Byebye, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address associated with that account. You may also provide a display name, username, bio, country, birth year, occupation, and profile photo.
You may create content within the app, including:
If you subscribe to Byebye Pro, we store your subscription status, plan type, and expiration date. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not collect or store your payment card details.
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure). Photos are stored in Supabase Storage. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use Row-Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own private data.
Your inventory is private by default. You control what's visible to others:
You can change visibility settings at any time. Making your profile private will hide it from other users and search.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in these limited circumstances:
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (available in-app under Settings), we will delete your personal data, items, photos, and associated content. Some data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes. Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days after deletion.
Byebye is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 is using the app, please contact us.
You have the right to:
If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
With your permission, we may send push notifications for usage reminders, friend requests, chat messages, crossing moments, and app updates. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
The app may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication (via Supabase Auth), and row-level database security policies. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
